Context Despite being a new emerging country and having an upper middle income, Colombia still faces socio-economic inequality issues.
According to the World Bank data, 32,7% of the population live below the national poverty line (2012) and 8.2% live on less than $1.25/day (2010).
Meaning The name of the foundation refers to the tulip the emblematic flower, which reflects an image of humility.
Its six petals symbolize the six values of the Fundación Tulipán: philanthropy, responsibility, ambition, sustainability, accountability and cooperation.
The logo illustrates a mix of both, a flower of hope and a raised hand towards humanity – the optimistic insights of the foundation.
Philosophy The chosen quote of the author Anita Roddick embodies the foundation’s own way of thinking, a ‘can do attitude’ for a just cause, combined with a high determination to achieve concrete results.
Philanthropy because there is not necessarily a reason to help someone, we build our reputation upon sensitivity and solidarity.
Responsibility we take into consideration the importance of tackling social inequalities, by participating in the humanitarian development.
Ambition we act with effectiveness to make each one wants to go over towards major issues such as poverty.
Sustainability we count on creativity and innovation to pursue our initiatives and make our actions lasting.
Accountability we evolve with the respect of integrity and a complete financial transparency, through ethical principles strongly settled.
Cooperation we enhance our partnerships to improve capacity building – a common investment for a better outcome.
